You always knew that Niall could make it out there because of his strong passion to what he wants in life. You only shared the happiness with him when he called you that he got through the audition. Ever since then, he had been busy with his new life, focusing on his career. The worst part of all this, you didn't had a chance to let him know how much he meant to you before he left for the audition.
It's been about few years later now, and some of your classmates decided to organize a school re-union. You're 22 now and so is Niall. You did contacted with Niall few times, but he has such a busy schedule that he updates to you once which is about a year ago. Since your classmates are organizing the school re-union, you decided to hit up Niall one more time asking if he'd like to come. You assume he wouldn't come since his busy with his career.
Its the school reunion day and its been a week later since you texted Niall about the school reunion. Just as you suspected, he wouldn't reply back. Somewhere in your heart, you had a little faith that he would come but you knew putting your expectations high would just lead into a disastrous result. So as you sigh in disappointment, you got ready. Your outfit you picked out to wore:
So you reached your old high school, as you got out of your car, memories of you and Niall started to flash. You told yourself that there is no way Niall would come. You were down because you thought that you get to see Niall again and say the things you wanted to tell him, but there is a slim chance that he would make an appearance.
You lifted up your spirit and put on a smile. You enter, you immediately saw your old group of friends. You head over to them and got reacquainted. You guys started to talk about your own career, what you do in life and basically getting updates from each other. Sharing laughter and feeling like you were back in high school again. Suddenly..
Your Best Friend : So, (Y/N) is Niall coming?
Your laughter drifted away the moment your best friend said Niall's name. Your heart sank in depression..
You : Well, I did texted him a week ago, he didn't reply. Well, he is an international superstar now..busy with schedule.
Your Best Friend : Aww, too bad. So you do still keep in contact with him?
You : I have, but just several times. I decided to stop since I thought it was bugging him...
Your Best Friend : Wow, you should be lucky that you're best friends with Niall...
You : Well, used to be..
Suddenly, your phone vibrated. You checked it was text message, from Niall! You checked it.
Niall : You're still my best friend no matter what. Now look behind you... ;)
You read the text message. You got confused.
Your Best Friend : Huh? What?
You : Look, Niall replied me back. But I'm confused..
Your Best Friend : Oh My God, (Y/N). Look behind you..
You turn around, and there he was. Your long lost best friend. Your secret crush. Your heart thumped loudly. You felt out of breath, as if someone had took the oxygen out of the room. Your feet were rooted to the ground and you couldn't move because of Niall's surprise appearance. Niall heads over to you, he hugs you. You missed his hugs so much. You felt secure and protected in his arms, when he hugs you.
Niall : I'm so sorry I haven't replied to you in a long while..
As you're both speaking, he holds you around your waist. Your heart melts and overjoyed with the surprise.
You : No, no. I understand, Niall...Your dreams came true! I'm really extremely happy for you..
Niall : Well, my dreams did came true...except for one...
You : What is it?
Niall : (Y/N) I've been keeping this confession for a long time and ever since we drifted apart, I've been dying to confess it to you. Telling you through texts, wouldn't be worth it. And I regret for not replying as much as I should with you..I should be, if I wanna keep the girl I'm in love with deeply in my life...
His last sentence made you cry into tears. After all these while, his been having the same feelings as you have for him. You looked into his eyes and smiled. You both kissed. Finally, you get to feel the lips you've been dying to kiss. And finally, your bestfriend is your lover now...
